Kronos is the king of the Titans who ruled the cosmos during the Golden Age. The youngest child of Ouranos and Gaea, Kronos overthrew his father by castrating and imprisoning him. It was foretold that Kronos in turn would be overthrown by one of his own children. To evade this fate, Kronos swallowed each of them as they were born. Rhea, his wife, managed to save their youngest child, Zeus. When he came of age, he then overthrew his father and became the new king of the gods. In astrology, Saturn is known as the fatherly figure that teaches karma (fitting because of what happened to him), responsibility, and discipline. Wood Wicks provide a more unique burning experience than a traditional cotton wick. We recommend to make sure that your first burn is always to a full melt pool (wax melted to the edge of the jar). Container candles have a ‘memory’ and if you don’t allow your candle to burn to the jar’s edge on the first burn, every subsequent burn will see the melted wax pool ‘tunnel’ down the wick rather than burn evenly out to the jar’s edge. Your wick will eventually drown in wax and will not stay lit.
